The MICA Scholarship Program provides undergraduate scholarships for family members of Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, and retired Military Intelligence Soldiers. Applicants or their immediate family member must be a current member if MICA in good standing (current membership). Scholarships may be used for attendance at regionally accredited colleges, universities, or state approved vocational schools. This program does not preclude local Chapters from sponsoring their own scholarship programs with the approval of the MICA National Executive Committee.

NEW ADVANCED ANALYSIS SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT
BG (Retired) Wayne M. Hall, a MICA member, has written a book titled "Intelligence Analysis—How to Think in Complex Environments" published by Praeger Security International. He is graciously donating all his proceeds from the sale of the book to a new scholarship fund to further the professionalism, education and knowledge of our military and civilian analysts. The Military Intelligence Corps Association is pleased to announce the creation of an annual scholarship to recognize the professional excellence of two of the Corps’ most outstanding Intelligence analysts. A group of former Intelligence Senior officers have combined their resources to create a scholarship fund to recognize and promote this unique scholarship effort. The Military Intelligence Corps Association (MICA) is the executive agent and steward for this scholarship program.
All intelligence analysts are eligible for the scholarship award. The focus however is on mid-grade civilians, NCO’s and Warrant Officers who are assigned to units or agencies focused on conducting analysis and who are active in conducting analysis to support Commanders.
Two scholarships will be awarded each year. Each scholarship award will be in the amount of $10,000. Awardees are required to use the award to further their advanced analysis education on the concepts, theories and techniques supporting analysis.

To be selected, an analyst must first be nominated by their chain-of-command. The 2010 Advanced Analysis Scholarship Nomination Form should be completed and emailed or mailed to the addresses below. All nominations must be submitted by 1 October 2010.

Nominated individuals wishing to compete for these scholarships should download the Advanced Analysis Scholarship Requirements document above. Individuals competing for the awards must complete and submit all scholarship requirements by 1 November 2010 to be eligible for the award. Submission requirements can be made in either hard or soft copy and be submitted via one of the addresses below.
Selection Criteria
MICA will convene a five-person board to evaluation submissions. Once each submission has been reviewed, the scholarship board will contact each nominee to set up an interview date and time. Interviews will begin on 8 November 2010 and will be conducted by telephone or network meeting capabilities. Nominees should plan on at least one hour to complete the interview process.
The committee will report its results to the MICA executive committee who will make the award announcement NLT than 30 November 2010. Awardees will be recognized and awarded their scholarships at the Intelligence Warfighter Summit (IWS) 7-9 December 2010.
